Need:
ORWEF plans and hosts a yearly continuing education short school for wastewater operator and professional engineering credits at Clackamas Community College, aka “WES Short School” or “Water Engineering School”.
Topics:
We are looking for engaging speakers to talk about wastewater, operations, process improvements, projects; or topics/projects related to wastewater that support this industries systems and processes. Please see our list of Tracks Below for the types of subjects we are looking for.
Request:
We ask our presenters to commit to speaking for us between December and March each year.
We ask only for the following:
- A 10 sentence abstract about your topic
- A three sentence bio about yourself
- Your contact information
Slides are not due until the day of your presentation. There are no papers due with your presentation, we do not collect presentations.

Each presentation must be 50 minutes long, in order to meet our DEQ CEU requirements. We ask for 5 minutes for questions, and include 5 mins of schedule float
style?
There is not a presentation template specifically required for use at the school. We ask that you utilize something professional, clear, easy to read on a screen as small as a 17″ laptop, and whose embedded videos are tested or linked through YouTube
travel?
Presenters can present virtually, or in person at the Oregon City CCC campus
cost?
In order to cover our insurance and CCC requirements we require all presenters and vendors to register for the school for the event.
However, we will provide you a code to WAIVE the registration fees for the day you attend. You will also receive a CEC/CEU certificate for your time and for any classes you attend before / after.
Can I present something I put together for work or another conference?
YES! Absolutely! If you, or an industry contact have a presentation, or a topic idea, even if it has already been presented on (or would be) at another conference or short school this year, and are interested in presenting. Please reach out!!
